Suburban Fire Tactics Seminar - Carol Stream, IL

Presented
By
Battalion Chief Curt Isakson, Escambia County (FL) Fire/Rescue

When: September 29, 2014
Time: 8am - 5pm
Where: Carol Stream Fire District, 365 N. Kuhn Rd., Carol Stream, IL 60188

This seminar will cover single story ranch houses to high-rise multiple dwellings. This seminar will cover both Engine and Truck Company Operations to include the First Alarm Assignment for most Structural Fires. Whether it is a 2 person Engine or a Cross manned Truck Company; the basics of tactics must be covered. This seminar will cover how to detemine Strategy based on your tactical ability. The strategy for the same structural fire can change, based on location within your response area and the arrival time and sequence of fire companies. When, How, Where, and what type of command does the Company Officer establish; when there is a delay of the first arriving Battalion Chief? This will be covered!

This will not be your typical Strategy and Tactics seminar. It will be real world fireground tactics, based on real world resources. Promotional Tactics do not work, when unlimited resources are not available. Firefighters and Fire Officers must prioritize their tactics based on available resources and the fireground priorities presented to them on arrival and as the incident unfolds.
This seminar will be presented from a Tactical Chief's perspective. Tactics put out Fires!

Curt Isakson is a 25 year veteran of the fire service and currently serves as a Battalion Chief and Chief of Special Operations with Escambia County (FL) Fire/Rescue
